help them drop pounds while not having to make any "real life"
commitments. For example, instead of having to attend weigh in

track their weight via the website's weight tracker, keeping
the number private and not having to worry about what anybody
else is thinking about them. For many people trying to lose
weight, finding a good online diet plan is the best way to
go.
But how do you choose which online diet plan is right for
you? Here are a few tips to help you out:
1. Look for a program that has ways for you
to track your weight loss via the site's systems. Sure you can
set up an excel spreadsheet, but when you track your weight
online you don't have to worry about what happens if your
computer crashes—the data is all still there, in a web based
form. What's more, some online diet plans offer incentive for
people when they reach weight loss milestones. If you work best
when a reward is involved, look for a program that has an
incentive system set up.
2. The best online diet plans will offer
online meal planning. Some of these meal planners will simply
be calorie counters, but others will allow you to input the
foods you like and then help you plan menus that involve those
foods while still keeping your calorie count low (and healthy).
Look for an online diet plan that lets you keep eating the
foods you enjoy—otherwise you'll get bored and be more likely
to cheat!
3. Online support systems. The best online
diet plan will have a place where you can interact with other
dieters/people trying to lose weight, should you choose to do
so. Look for sites that come complete with forums. These forums
can often be a godsend for those who have questions or who find
that they need to talk with people who are going through the
same things they are. Chat rooms are also a great place to find
online support from fellow dieters.
4. Some of the more advanced online diet
plan sites will have a way that you can document your progress
for others to see (and allow you to see how other dieters are
doing as well). These online journals can be a great way to get
feedback on your progress and find help from those who know
what you are going through.
